The CELSIUS R ARCTIC GTX by northwave are winter road shoes for those who continue their training even under extreme weather conditions. Thanks to the waterproof and windproof KOALA GORE-TEX membrane, your feet remain warm even in the coldest conditions. The fibre-reinforced NRG AIR CARBON sole provides very good power transfer. The upper shoe with its OVERLAP construction ensures reduced wind resistance, as it binds the foot evenly and without pressure points. What’s more, it helps to transfer every watt of your power. The EASYFIT CLIMAFLEX cuff at the top of the road shoe combines the particularly high elasticity of the GORE-TEX RATTLER membrane with the strong insulation of neoprene, thus increasing mobility and protection. The ergonomic heel shape with its anatomical fit in combination with the ARCTIC 4LAYER insole also provides excellent insulation. The reflective inserts boost your visibility. The reinforced and abrasion-resistant toe area in combination with the precise SLW2 dial round off the clever features of these road bike shoes.

Highlights & Technologies:

GORE-TEX KOALA:
When temperatures drop to the point where only the toughest people are out and about, that's when the GORE-TEX KOALA membrane comes into its own. Its insulating fibres provide an optimal barrier against the cold, making it suitable for challenging winter conditions. It provides excellent protection against rain and snow, but is also highly breathable and wind-repellent. In addition, the outer fabric is easy to clean, e.g. after muddy rides.

NRG AIR CARBON:
Thanks to a new mix of fibreglass and carbon-reinforced nylon, this sole is now even stiffer. The outsole is equipped with the Airflow ventilation system to provide optimal air circulation inside the shoe thanks to several vents.

OVERLAP:
The overlap construction of the upper shoe characterises many northwave shoes. Thanks to the overlap, the pressure of the fastener is evenly distributed over the instep.

CLIMAFLEX:
This collar is made from soft, insulating neoprene and a highly elastic membrane and feels like a sock. Therefore, it offers very good mobility and extensive weather protection. Zero overlap and no Velcro straps, so that foot and ankle can move freely.

GORE-TEX RATTLER:
The core of all GORE-TEX textiles is an extremely thin, permanently waterproof, windproof and breathable membrane. It has over 1.4 billion micropores per square centimetre. The pores of the GORE-TEX membrane are 700 times larger than a molecule of water vapour. This allows sweat to escape unhindered. The volume of air that passes through one square metre of fabric in one second not more than 5.0 l/m²sec – which makes the membrane truly windproof. The microscopically small pores are approximately 20,000 times smaller than water droplets. Thus, the GORE-TEX membrane is absolutely waterproof.
The GORE-TEX RATTLER membrane comes with a robust nylon-Lycra outer fabric for high durability.

SLW2 SYSTEM CLOSURE:
The speed lace system closure provides perfect support for your feet, is functional and fast to use: Simply open and close the shoe with a flick of the wrist. A large dial allows for precise tensioning of the wires. The shoes can be fully opened at once or step by step. For gradual release, you can push the little lever at the dial and for full release, you can lift the lever.

Insole with EVA + Aluminium and EVA + Pile for optimal insulation.
