The Byway gravel tyre from the traditional US manufacturer WTB is a specialist for dry and hard grounds, with plenty of reserves for gravel and loose terrains. This makes it perfect for adventure road tours and bike-packing trips.
The flat strip in the centre tread minimizes the rolling resistance on asphalt and hard grounds. On either side is a ribbed pattern which goes over into a diamond-shaped side tread for the necessary grip on gravel and loose terrains. When riding up slopes you can count on the shoulder blocks for great support, providing lots of security on those fast gravel curves and control so you don’t twist away on the asphalt.
This concept is also featured in the tyre’s Dual DNA Rubber Compound. The middle of the centre tread is made from a hard rubber compound that reduces the rolling resistance and increases durability. A softer compound is used for the side tread for more grip. This combination makes the WTB Byway a really reliable all-rounder!
