Note

Read the supplied manual carefully, especially the notes on the steerer tube adapter, and watch the corresponding video tutorial (link).

Step 1: Inserting the seat post

  1. Take the carbon paste from the accessory bag.
  2. Apply some carbon paste evenly to the lower part of the seat post.
  3. Insert the seat post carefully and straight into the seat tube.
  4. Apply some carbon paste to the clamping surface of the seat post clamp.
  5. Insert the clamp into the seat tube.
  6. Tighten the clamp to 7 Nm using the 5 mm hex bit.
  7. Slide the seat post cover over the clamp.

Step 2: Removing transport material

  1. Remove the protective padding and covers from the frame.
  2. Loosen the cockpit screws with the 4 mm Allen key.
  3. Loosen the top cap screws with the 4 mm Allen key and remove the top cap.
  4. Remove the transport aid with the one-piece cockpit from the headset.
  5. Please note: The steerer tube adapter is supplied loose – put it to one side ready to hand.
  6. Remove the transport aid from the cockpit.

Step 3: Installing the cockpit & steerer tube adapter

  1. Place the cockpit on the steerer tube and fix the fork on the underside with the other hand.
  2. Position the steerer tube adapter (bevelled side down) over the gap between the steerer tube and the cockpit and press it down firmly.
    • If necessary, use the transport aid to push the adapter all the way down.
    • The seat is intentionally tight to prevent play.
  3. Put on the top cap and tighten the top cap screw only slightly.

Step 4: Inserting the wheel

  1. Remove the rubber band from the front brake lever.
  2. Pull the transport lock out of the brake calliper.
  3. Remove the quick-release axle with the 6 mm Allen key.
  4. Position the front wheel centrally in the fork. Be careful not to touch the brake disc with your fingers.
  5. Reinsert the thru axle and tighten it to 12 Nm using the torque spanner.

Step 5: Adjusting the headset play

  1. Place the bike on the ground, apply the front brake and move the bike forwards and backwards.
  2. If you can feel any play between the fork and frame, turn the top cap screw in quarter turns and check again. A maximum torque of 2 Nm must not be exceeded.
  3. Correctly adjusted, there must be no more play and the handlebars must still turn smoothly.
  4. Align the cockpit straight to the wheel.
  5. Tighten the cockpit screws to 4 Nm using the 4 mm hex bit.
  6. Remove the safety sticker and insert the screw cover.

Step 6: Mounting the pedals

  1. Apply some grease to both pedal threads.
  2. Place the left pedal (usually stamped as L) on the left crank arm and screw it in clockwise from the opposite side.
  3. Do the same with the right pedal. Important: This must be screwed in anti-clockwise.
  4. Tighten both pedals to 35 Nm using a 6 or 8 mm hex bit (depending on the model). Use the switch function on the torque wrench for this.

Step 7: Charging the battery

Charging the shifting system or inserting the batteries varies depending on the manufacturer and system. You can find the relevant tutorials here.

Everything is fixed? Then you should adjust the saddle height before your first ride. You can find tips on this and other tutorials in the topic overview. Have fun on your first ride.
