Installing mudguard and kickstand

Rain won't stop you, and you want to get your Blend ready for the city? Here's how easy it is to install mudguards and a side stand on your bike.

You need

Mounting the kickstand

  • First, remove the rear wheel. You can find a description of the process here.
  • The kickstand mount (KSA 18 standard) is provided with a cover. Unscrew the screw on the inside of the frame stay, then remove the cover plate.
  • Clean all surfaces thoroughly before mounting.
  • Install the stand according to the manufacturer's instructions and tighten it with a torque wrench. The maximum tightening torque for the kickstand mount is 2 Nm.
  • Reinstall the rear wheel.

  • Please note that the maximum torque for the threaded eyelets is 2 Nm.
  • If you install a luggage rack, the maximum load per side is 8 kg.
  • You can find mudguards from SKS Germany designed specifically for your Blend here.
  • You can download the corresponding installation instructions as a PDF here.

Installation Tips

  • Always follow the maximum torques specified in the installation instructions.
  • Different spacers are used on the fork crown and seat stay bridge for road bike or gravel tyres (see instructions).
  • Also, be sure to use the hole in the rear mudguard that matches your frame size (see instructions).
  • If washers and spacers are used, they must always be positioned in the following order: Screw → Washer → Mudguard → Washer → Spacer(s) → Frame
