The bags for your Backroad are equipped with the magnetic Fidlock system and can be attached and removed in just a few steps. Everything you need to know.
You need
Rose Fidlock mounting tool (included with your bike)
alternatively, an adjustable wrench
Installation of Fidlock fasteners
If the fasteners for the bags are not yet pre-mounted on the frame, first remove the blind plugs from the threaded holes. The best tools for this are your fingernails or a flat, non-scratching tool (e.g., credit card).
Afterwards, screw the fasteners into the threads and tighten them with the appropriate Fidlock tool or an adjustable wrench.
Attaching the bags
In order to attach the bags, simply clip them onto the corresponding mounts on the fasteners.
The magnets automatically bring the mounts into the correct position. When attaching a bag, you should hear a distinct clicking sound, which indicates that the mechanical lock has engaged.
Tip: With the frame bag, it is easiest to start with the two front mounts and then clip in the middle and rear ones.
Then check that all the mounts are securely attached to the fasteners and that none of the side tabs are caught.
Removing the bags
In order to remove them, simply pull the bags to the side. To do this, grab the frame bag from below or the top tube bag from above and pull it away to the left (from the rider's perspective). If your bags are empty, you may need to help out with individual fasteners.
Check from time to time whether the fasteners are still firmly in place.
