How to get your Classified bike ready to ride

Before you set off with your Classified shifting system, you should first charge the battery of the smart thru axle. You can find out how it works here.

You need

  • Micro-USB cable
  • 5V power supply

Note

Charging the Classified thru axle does not affect the charge level of your Di2 rear derailleur—it must be charged separately. On the overview page, select your rear derailleur to view a description of the charging process.
You can find a manufacturer's video on how to charge the Classified smart thru axle here.

Step 1: Removing the thru axle

  • Loosen the smart thru axle at the rear wheel by turning the lever counterclockwise.
  • After turning it a few times, you can pull the thru axle all the way out toward the back.
  • Keep in mind that the rear wheel is now loosely mounted in the frame and may fall out if the frame is lifted.

Step 2: Charging the battery

  • Turn the round cover cap (on the inside of the thru axle lever) counterclockwise until it can be pulled off toward the back.
  • Connect the charging cable to the internal micro-USB port and to a compatible mains adapter or USB port.
  • Once plugged into a power socket, a flashing green LED indicates the charging process.
  • When the battery is fully charged, the LED stays green. The charging time is approx. 4 hours at room temperature.

Step 3: Inserting the thru axle

  • Unplug the charging cable from the micro-USB port and refit the cover cap.
  • When tightening the cap, make sure it is properly seated and in the lock position. Otherwise, dust and water could get inside and damage the electronics.
  • Reinsert the thru axle into the rear hub and tighten it until the lever is pointing toward the handlebar control unit again.
