Silva Trail Runner Free Headlamp

Good visibility even when running at night, and without those annoying cables everywhere – not a problem with the Trail Runner Free from Silva. In its 5th generation, the popular headlamp comes with two clever updates.

The headlamp is equipped with the Silva Free Technology™, with which the cables are directly woven into the headband. The cables are practically invisible, running from the front of the head to the back, where they can be simply connected to the battery compartment. So you’re pretty much free of annoying cables and less likely to have them get caught in low-hanging branches and the like. The appearance of the headband is therefore cleaner and more organised. In addition, the Silva Trail Runner Free has a hybrid battery compartment, which accepts both the included AAA-batteries, as well as the Silva Hybrid Battery Pack. The battery compartment also has an integrated red safety light, which you can set to a flashing or continuous light so other road users see you better.

You can attach the compact battery compartment directly to the back of the headband or use the included extension cable to stow it away in the jersey pocket or backpack. The textile, soft ribbon cable can also sit comfortably against the skin. This may also help extend the battery life in cold temperatures. The waterproof light and battery housing offers an IPX5 level of protection that can handle all types of weather and terrain. And the large on/off button makes the headlamp easy to operate, even when wearing gloves or when wet. The compact headlamp from Silva also has an adjustable beam and has been adapted to the needs of runners. There are three levels of brightness and the Intelligent Light technology combines a wide beam up close with a spotlight for seeing things further away. So you get a clear view of your surroundings, nearby obstacles and the road ahead. So you can feel more secure when running over complex terrains.
