Maxxis Rekon Race TR EXO Dual MTB Folding Tyre

The MAXXIS Rekon Race is designed for speed and feels particularly at home on dry XC trails, fast forest tracks and in races. As a semi-slick tyre with the flattest profile within the MAXXIS XC tyre family, it is designed for low rolling resistance and high efficiency without sacrificing controlled cornering performance.

The low centre knobs enable fast acceleration and efficient rolling on hardpack and dry trails, while more pronounced side knobs provide additional grip in corners. Thanks to the balanced tread design, the Rekon Race is suitable for both the front and rear wheel as well as a fast rear tyre in combination with a more heavily profiled front tyre.

In this version, the Rekon Race combines EXO Protection with the Dual Compound for cross-country and light trail use with a focus on efficient rolling behaviour, control and versatile performance on dry surfaces.

• EXO PROTECTION
EXO Protection is an extremely cut- and abrasion-resistant protective layer on the sidewall of selected MTB, Gravel and Metro tyres from MAXXIS. The tightly woven material is designed to be both light and flexible, so that the performance of the tyres is affected as little as possible.

• DUAL COMPOUND
With the Dual Compound, MAXXIS uses two different rubber compounds in one tread. The properties and arrangement of the compounds are tailored to the respective area of use of the tyre. Depending on the tyre category, different dual compound constructions are used, which can differ significantly between gravel and downhill tyres, for example.

• TUBELESS READY [TR] 
In the MAXXIS range, Tubeless Ready [TR] refers to tyres with a construction that is designed for tubeless use with a sealant, a compatible tubeless rim or matching rim tape. The system enables lower air pressures and is intended to improve traction and ride quality, while reducing the rolling resistance. In addition, minor damages can be sealed directly by the sealant, which reduces the risk of breakdowns.
